Development and preliminary
photography began with a rare opportunity to film
a performance and interview with Carolyn Hester,
one of the seminal figures of the sixties folk revival
movement who appears regularly at Anderson Fair.
To date, ninety-five percent of principal photography
planned for the film has been fulfilled. Twenty days
of multi-camera shooting have been completed providing
over one hundred hours of new material including
performances and interviews with Guy Clark, Slaid
Cleaves, Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Lyle Lovett, Nanci
Griffith, Tish Hinojosa, The Texas Flatliners (Vince
Bell, Steve Fromholz and Eric Taylor), Bill Cade,
Shake Russell and others. Additional interviews with
Anderson Fair's longtime proprietor, Tim Leatherwood,
twenty-five year volunteer, Joy Lewallen, as well
as numerous other artists and members of the original "family" have
also been filmed. Completion of principal photography
anticipated for the summer of 2007.
Post-production
began in mid-2006 and will run concurrently with
the final stages of production. The producers anticipate
reaching a "rough cut" by fall
of 2007. Project completion is anticipated for Spring
of 2008.
